a while ago, i stumbled upon past northside art students on facebook, and i remember compulsively scrolling through their lives, entirely conscious of how creepy it was. i didn’t register how much i had fallen in love with these people that i did not know in the remotest until now. the trajectory of my life could be traject-adjacent to theirs and i would be completely happy with that. in connecting this with the transcendence of maps, the array and disarray of life can be gridded and plotted on a map, used to trace their origins. they’re preferable to placing lives on a rigid timeline, for example, because those are definite. maps show the possibility of other paths and their equal or unequal consequence. will choosing this route deliver me there as fast, safe, or even happy as this one?

the personal, almost private images that i intruded on functioned as a map for their lives. i don’t know where to begin if i were to attempt to convey that in my 20hr but i thought it was neat. (via danny sobor)
